Melissa Fremeijer is a senior research analyst in the EMEA Telecommunications & Networking Group and is based in Amsterdam.
Fremeijer focuses on building out IDC's research on audio, web, and video conferencing in terms of both equipment and services.
She contributes to IDC's unified communications and collaboration (UCC) research, on which she worked as an IP PBX and enterprise
communications analyst. As part of IDC's consumer-based research Fremeijer focuses on the dynamics and trends in the European
broadcast TV market.
Before joining IDC EMEA in January 2008, Fremeijer worked for the IDC Asia/Pacific Telecommunications Research Group in
Singapore. Her research there was mainly on IP communications, including IP telephony and IP VPN equipment and services.
She also worked across the telecommunications research group to conduct data analysis and research and to provide insights
across a wide range of telecommunications issues.
Before joining IDC, Fremeijer was with ABN Amro, a major international bank. As a senior analyst she advised management
of Treasury Operations on business organizational and strategy matters and was also responsible for internal IT cost control,
internal service level management, and monthly distribution of the business unit's performance data.
Fremeijer holds a bachelor's degree in international service management from the Stenden University of Applied Sciences
in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands.
